Marseille will host Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Cup Quarter final second leg at the Stade Velodrome this Thursday. The first leg saw a 2-0 victory of Shakhtar Donetsk.
Marseille will be hoping on the home crowd supporters for reversing the two goals deficit.
“I think the public will push us for 90 minutes Thursday so that at the end of the game everyone is happy. If we score a goal in the first twenty minutes, it will boost us to score more but but we must not concede a goal.” said Brazilian centre-back Vitorino Hilton on OM.net.
Marseille will be without centre-back Julien Rodriguez who picked an ankle injury from team mate Modeste Mbami in a training ground incident this Tuesday while mid-field Bolo Zenden and Benoit Cheyrou are doubtful and will undergo fitness tests on Wednesday.
Shakhtar Donetsk will be without the suspended Mykola Ischenko but they will get back Serbian mid-fielder Igor Duljaj.
Marseille will count on history this Thursday since they never lost an UEFA Cup quarter final and have never been eliminated by a Ukrainian opponent on the European stage.
