The atmosphere at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin was full of anticipation as Juventus and Inter Milan walked out to the roaring cheers of the crowd. The game shot off with a bang and it was simple to see that neither team had come to play for a draw.

Inter had the first real chance at goal when Gianluigi Buffon was unable to hold on to a Mario Balotelli low drive. It was all down to Tiago’s goal line clearance that kept the scoreline at 0-0. The game continued on in the same electrifying pace and despite an eventful first half with a handful of great chances from both teams, there were no goals and Stefano Farino blew the whistle to signal the half time break.

Juventus looked like the brighter team after the restart and despite a fine start, the home team slowly began to track back into their own half due to the increasing pressure from Inter. The goal was hanging in the air and after the hour mark Balotelli managed to put one past Buffon after some fine work by both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sulley Muntari.

Things got from bad to worse when Tiago only ten minutes later received his marching orders after lashing out at the goalscorer. Juventus, however, refused to give up despite being reduced to ten men and in the stoppages none other than right back Zdenek Grygera scored a bullet header on a Sebastian Giovinco corner to level the score at the Stadio Olimpico.

Juventus – Inter 1-1
0-1 (63) Balotelli, 1-1 (91) Grygera
Red card: Tiago (Juventus) 75
