“I am very disappointed because we have conceded four goals we wouldn’t normally concede. We made massive mistakes. You don’t remember any saves from Pepe Reina. It’s just four chances and four goals – all of them from our mistakes. You never know what can happen in football, so we have to be confident we’ll have chances until the end of the season. United are in the driving seat, but we will see what happens on Wednesday. If they win it will be more difficult, but they have to win. They also have to play Arsenal, so we will see.” said Liverpool’s manager after the match.

Regarding the title race Benitez said that everything can happen in football.

“You never know what can happen in football, so we have to be confident we’ll have chances until the end of the season. United are in the driving seat, but we will see what happens on Wednesday. If they win it will be more difficult, but they have to win. They also have to play Arsenal, so we will see.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insisted that the title race was far from over despite United’s two-game advantage.

“Liverpool are still in it but it depends on United’s games in hand,” said the Frenchman. “It’s still very open. United had some little problems before the Champions League, so it depends on how they bounce back.” said Arsene Wenger.

“I believe it was a game of a frenetic pace, and of top quality. Both teams created many chances and you can see when you play on a good pitch you can play football in the Premier League. Apart from that we are  half-happy because we scored four goals but we are half-unhappy because we conceded four. As well, to be 4-3 up with two minutes to go, the team is disappointed. It was another great performance tonight and Liverpool maybe thought a draw was a fair result.: Said Arsene Wenger on Club’s Official website.

On Andrey Arshavin the Arsenal manager said that Arshavin has ricks and a short back-lift and that ” makes him very dangerous.”

“It shows he has a good left foot, but in full confidence he can be relaxed enough to take the goal anyway. I have been in this job a long time and not many players get four goals in a top game like that. I didn’t expect him to do that – he has scored seven in seven games.” added the Arsenal manager.
