Liverpool went on top of the English Premier league after beating Hull City 3-1 at the KC Stadium on goal difference ahead of Manchester United playing Tottenham later on.
Liverpool went ahead minutes before the break when a Xabi Alonso free Kick strike the wall and the ball bounced back to Alonso who fired the ball back to the net.
After the break, Hull were reduced to 10 men after Caleb Folan was sent Off after an unfair challenge on Martin Skrtel.
At the 62min Liverpool double their lead with a Dirk Kuyt goal while Hull pulled one back from a Geovanni goal.
Hull’s hopes of coming back in the game were ended when Dirk Kuyt scored his double of the day.
