Everton have beaten Manchester United 4-2 on penalties after extra time in the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley.

Without any trophy seen 1995, Everton have a great chance now, and as David Moyes said on the Club’s Official website “Everton are going to win something soon, that’s for sure. It will be happening. Let’s hope it’s this one. But the players and the Club are getting ready to win a trophy.”

When Sir Alex Ferguson announced his team, many pundits reviewed their predictions and backed Everton as a winner. Without players like Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Edwin van der Sar Everton chances were increased.

Everton also ended Man Utd quintuple dreams while Sir Alex Ferguson was right when he said on Manutd.com that Everton’s will to win it could end in a disappointment day for the Red Devils.

The first half ended in a goalless draw without great action from both team.

Man Utd will be furious with Referee Mike Riley for not allowing an obvious penalty when Phil Jagielka brought down Danny Welbeck in the second half.

Extract Time produced no great moment and ended goalless although Man Utd have introduced Dimitar Berbatov. Earlier Patrice Evra and Paul Scholes came up as substitute.

In the penalties shoot out, ex Man Utd goalkeeper became the hero after he saved Dimitar Berbatov and Rio Ferdinand penalties, while Jagielka scored the fouth goal that sent Everton in the dream land.

“The effort the players put in. We’re working towards success at Everton and if they keep doing what they’re doing now we won’t be far away.It was tough. Manchester United, whoever they play – if they’d put out their Under-14s it would’ve been a tough game. They go out to win every trophy, every competition. I thought we kept at it, I thought we could’ve played better at times, but Manchester United made it difficult for us.” Said Everton manager on Evertonfc.com

David Moyes also admitted that his side had prepared for penalties.”Yes we did actually (practice penalties), we had a go,How can you practice? You come up, you have a go, if the goalie goes right he saves it, if he doesn’t you score.” said Moyes.

Everton will now be facing Chelsea in the FA Cup Final.
