FA Cup Semi Final Preview: Arsenal v/s Chelsea

On Saturday the 18th April 2009, Arsenal will be playing against Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley Stadium, Kick OFF 1715GMT.

It will be the first time that these two meet at the Wembley Stadium.One thing is for sure that the FA Cup final will be between the North and South!

Arsenal is currently facing a crisis of injuries with Kieran Gibbs(groin), Gael Clichy (back),Johan Djourou (knee), goalkeeper Manuel Almunia (ankle) and William Gallas (knee).Andrey Arshavin and Eduardo will be back at Wembley.Kieran Gibbs is doubtful while “Eduardo might be a little bit short but Diaby is completely ready.” said Arsene Wenger on Arsenal TV Online.

Chelsea have a new face under interim manager Guus Hiddink, with an excellent Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka they have shown great spirit lately with a stunning comeback against Liverpool.

Chelsea is the bookies top favourite at an average of 2.50, while Arsenal is at 2.90 and a draw is at 3.10.

Chelsea will be without Deco and José Bosingwa while John Terry will be back in action this Saturday.

“I know the FA Cup in England is important for every team, for us as well, but we try to win every competition when we play. I knew when I arrived last year, I saw how every player prepared for Cup games and that it is important, but first we need to win this game” said Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on Club’s Official Website.
