Liverpool can go on top of the Premier league this Tuesday if they beat Arsenal at Anfield while Man Utd will be playing against Portsmouth on Wednesday.

Liverpool will have no right for errors here,with 70pts and Chelsea 67pts, if they want to keep their chances alive.A defeat at Anfiled could cost them both the title and the second place with in form Chelsea playing against Everton on Wednesday.

Liverpool will be without Captain Steven Gerrard. According to a Liverpool FC Spokesman Gerrard is expected to be out for 10 days.

Liverpool will have the task to end the Gunners unbeaten run in the Premier league since November 2008, Liverpool have lost only two of the last 15 Premier league meetings at Anfield. We can expect a very tight and thrilling game on Tuesday night.

“We know it is the only competition we have to play for now and we are fighting for the title, we have to keep going and maybe if Manchester United can drop some points we will be there. Liverpool have 48 wins compare to Arsenal 21 wins and 15 draws at Anfield. Earlier this season the game ended a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium. Robin Van Persie gave Arsenal the lead at the 24th minute while Robbie Keane equalised for the Reds. Arsenal were reduced to 10 men after the sending off of Emmanuel Adebayor at the 72th minute.

Arsenal will be without Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor. Robin van Persie picked up a groin problem in the FA Cup Semi-Final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday while “Emmanuel Adebayor is rested. He has a little hamstring alert and we don’t want to take a gamble on him. ” Said Arsene Wenger on Club’s Official website.


Bacary Sagna and Croatia forward Eduardo will be back while Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will replace injured Manuel Almunia.
