Blackburn Rovers is currently 14th placed with 34pts and have already lost against Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa both home and away.Blackburn Rovers last away win was against Hull on 1st March 2009 (2-1) with goals from S. Warnock and K. Andrews.The Sam Allardyce’s side did a fabulous job by beating last week Spurs 2-1 and at the same time they get out of the relegation zone.
Liverpool have already beaten Blackburn this season,3-1, with goals from Xabi Alonso, Yossi Benayoun and Steven Gerrard at Ewood Park in December 2008.Liverpool will be hoping to do the double over Blackburn Rovers and to secure their fifth straight Barclays Premier League victory.
Commenting on Liverpool’s defeat against Chelsea, Sam Allardyce said on Blackburn’s website that he did not believe Liverpool’s zonal marking system was to blame for Chelsea’s two headed goals and that full credit should be given to Ivanovic and “the delivery from the Chelsea players who took the corners and particularly of Ivanovic’s leap and heading ability and his awareness to find the right place to head that ball in the net.”
